The PGZ-09 self-propelled artillery is a new generation of 35mm self-propelled artillery developed by China. It is mainly responsible for the force field air defense mission. The successful development of the new high-altitude artillery has enabled China to have high maneuvering end air defense capability for the first time. It can effectively intercept conventional targets such as helicopters, drones and cruise missiles within the range of 50 meters to 5,000 meters, so that the PLA can reach developed countries in this field. The level of similar equipment.
The new double-tube 35mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun adopts the internationally popular overall layout. One single-tube 35mm high-altitude gun is installed on each side of the turret. This external design is easy to disassemble and easy to maintain. The turret is equipped with an illuminating radar in front of and above the turret. Laser sighting machine, infrared night vision device, search radar and other sight-seeing equipment can be used for all-weather operations; the command and control system uses the latest technology, and the shooter controls the high-altitude gun with the handle of the LCD screen, which greatly reduces the workload.
The non-elastic chain feeding system adopts the external energy supply, and two left and right automatic feeding boxes are provided. Each feeding box is accommodated 560 rounds, in addition to two auxiliary bullet boxes, each of which has 630 rounds. The muzzle is equipped with a speed measuring device. This kind of self-propelled anti-aircraft gun is equipped with a radio control radar, although the performance is excellent, but the cost is expensive. It is reported that the cost is more than two Type-99A.
The PGZ-09 uses the same track -type universal chassis as the PLZ-05 self-propelled howitzer (05-type 155mm self-propelled howitzer) , using a torsion bar suspension system with six double-turn wheels on both sides and power on the front. The wheel, the idler wheel placed at the rear and the three return rollers above the road wheel. However, the interior is the same layout as the PGZ-95 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (95-type 25mm self-propelled anti-aircraft gun). Its engine is placed in front, on the right side of the cab. The double-operated turret is located at the rear of the center of the car. There is also a rear hatch at the rear of the car body.
The main weapon system of the PGZ-09 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun is a 90-type dual 35mm traction anti-aircraft gun (formerly the original Erigo Air GDF-002 double 35mm anti-aircraft modified version) enhanced type, two 35mm high-altitude guns installed on both sides of the turret The outside. The bombs include a variety of ammunition such as burning grenade and armor-burning grenade. The gun has a single-door firing rate of 500 rounds per minute, an effective range of 4,000 meters, and an effective shot height of 3,000 meters.
The PGZ-09 is equipped with a search radar and tracking radar. The right side of the turret is also equipped with an independent photoelectric fire control system, including a laser range finder, an infrared goniometer and a thermal image tracker. The top of the turret is equipped with an optical sight. In addition, the PGZ-07 fire control system also has the ability to accurately guide ground-to-air missiles. The search radar is a full-coherent pulse Doppler radar with a maximum search distance of 20 kilometers. It is equipped with an enemy-identification device that can continuously monitor the air between stationary and traveling, and automatically transmit the captured signal to the tracking radar.
The existence of a missile-armed version of PGZ-07 so far, as is often the case with the Chinese military equipment, has no formal proof. Moreover, the very picture with the self-propelled missiles raise some questions: they will probably photomontage. In the end, even if ZRPK exist, their number is still small. All photos and videos, which were for more than one self-propelled gun show purely options PGZ-07. It is said that the PGZ-09 has reserved four missile mounts for air-to-air missiles beside the 35mm anti-aircraft gun . Later, when the upgraded version is loaded with missiles, it will become a missile-to-air defense weapon system, complemented by missiles and anti-aircraft guns.
The Hongqi-17 air defense missile developed by China on the basis of the Russian "Dal" air defense missile has been in service. The maximum range of the missile is between 15 and 20 kilometers. The future type 07 self-propelled artillery and Hongqi-17 air defense missiles can form a loosely-formed ammunition combined with air defense systems, giving full play to the advantages of self-propelled artillery and anti-aircraft missiles, taking advantage of each other's strengths, and achieving the operational effectiveness that is difficult to achieve with a single anti-aircraft or anti-aircraft missile. Further improved the field of my mechanized troops with air defense capabilities.
